20 students from Mayo Karate Academy attended their first international competition, the Irish International Open, last weekend.
The event took place in the National Indoor Arena in Dublin.
This competition draws in elite competitors from all over the U.K. and Europe and judged by world qualified referees.
Mayo Karate Academy took home one gold, five silver and 12 bronze medals in total, ranging from junior to senior categories.
These are the first international medals won by the academy, having opened one year in September.
The competitors are coached by Aaron McLoughlin.
