Enniscrone native Richard Howley has claimed gold in the opening leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup at the Agria Oslo Horse Show in Norway.
With 40 riders taking part on the day, and the top ten in the world all competing, it all came down to a sensational 17 horse jump-off.
Howley, aboard Consultant de Prelet Z, rocketed into the lead to take the win by 0.3 seconds.
Second place was Simon Delestre of France, while the U.K.'s Jack Whitaker was in third.
Originally from Dooneen, Enniscrone, the 31 year old is now based in Wetherby in the U.K.
He’ll hope for more success next week in the second leg of the competition which takes place in Helsinki, Finland.
