Mike Solan has stepped down as assistant manager from the Leitrim Senior footballers.
Solan has been Andy Moran’s right-hand man over the past two seasons but has recently taken on a new school principal position and is unable to maintain his role with Leitrim as a result.
Having led Mayo to the All-Ireland under-21 title in 2016, he was one of a number of candidates that went for the Mayo job last year and assembled a high profile backroom team only to lose out to Kevin McStay, though he remained part of Moran’s management team until now.
Barry McWeeney and Luke Bree will remain on board though Moran will now seek a replacement for Solan.
