Tullamore Saturday August 12 – National Masters Outdoors Track and Field Championships
There was the usual full programme of masters athletics, with a packed schedule of track and field competitions from 10am to 7pm.

John Walkin took the baton few metres behind before overtaking and sprinting brilliantly to win dramatically on the line in great style in 49:60, DSD 49.88, Tullamore 51:26.
Just before 7pm In the final event of the day there was another relay gold and icing on the cake for Mayo AC in the 4 x 400m.

They were well supported by first sub Gerry Kirrane and by our other other medallists all the way round the 4 laps, and to the great delight also of senior sprinter Declan Owens.
