The Mayo Gaelic Masters were victorious in their championship round 6 tie today against Clare.
Mayo ran out eleven point winners in Clarecastle.
John Reilly and Mike Gallagher got the ball rolling early on to put Mayo three points up before Clare hit the net on seven minutes.
This would be Clare’s only point of the half as Gallagher would hit 0-4 before the break, and Paddy Hopkins goaled on 29 minutes from the penalty spot to give Mayo a 1-10 to 1-0 half time lead.
Adrian Forkan, Mickey Prendergast and Pat Mulchrone all hit second half scores to keep Mayo ahead, while Hopkins added another to finish the day with 1-3.
