Sligo have been beaten by Kerry in the LGFA All Ireland U16 B football final.
Despite conceding two early goals, Sligo clawed back to force a fascinating finish.
In the dying minutes in Ballinasloe, Kerry managed to hold possession with their three point lead intact despite the best Sligo efforts.
Kerry held a 3-5 to 0-4 lead at the break, with Saoirse Corcoran goaling early in the second half to bring Sligo back into the game.
Keeva Flynn added scores from play and placed balls to help Sligo to put the pressure on the Kingdom, and she hit Sligo’s second goal in the 59th minute of the game.
Alas, Sligo’s poor start to the first half hindered the result and Kerry were crowned All Ireland champions.
