Mayo GAA senior football manager Kevin McStay has made two changes to his team from that which started against Galway last weekend for the All-Ireland senior football championship quarter-final against Dublin this Sunday, July 2nd at 4:00pm in Croke Park.
Regular midfield Matthew Ruane is recalled to the starting fifteen in place of Kevin McLoughlin with Pádraig O'Hora getting the nod this time out ahead of his club mate Sam Callinan in defence. Kevin McLoughlin and Callinan are named on the Mayo bench.
Colm Reape continues in goal with O'Hora and the impressive Jack Coyne now flanking the marauding Mayo full-back David McBrien. Captain Paddy Durcan, Stephen Coen and Eoghan McLaughlin are listed in the Mayo half-back line for this winner takes all quarter final.
Matthew Ruane and Diarmuid O'Connor are reacquainted at midfield for the Dublin clash with Jason Doherty, Jack Carney and Jordan Flynn now named in a new look Mayo half forward line. Doherty started against Galway at centre-back last weekend but is now in more familiar surroundings in the Mayo attack. Breaffy powerhouse Aidan O'Shea is named at corner forward with Tommy Conroy getting consecutive starts on the edge of the small square at full forward. CLG Béal an Mhuirthead sharpshooter Ryan O'Donoghue is listed to start at top of the right for Mayo. Aidan O Shea will make 84th championship appearance, which equals Andy Moran's Mayo record. It also places him joint 6th on all-time list behind Stephen Cluxton, Sean Cavanagh, the two O Sé's, Tomas and Marc and Colm Cooper.
Meath referee David Gough will be the man in the middle for this crucial encounter. Mayo GAA will have live updates across all social media on Sunday afternoon. The game is live on RTE2 and broadcast live on Midwest Radio with commentary from Michael D McAndrew and Martin Carney.
