Two North Mayo men made a big impact off the bench as the Ireland recorded a bonus point 30-10 win over Australia in their World Rugby U20 Championship Pool B clash in Paarl, South Africa this morning.
Geesala’s Fiachna Barrett replaced prop Ronan Foxe on the the 56th minute and Ireland began to dominate at scrum-time and he took a quick tap that led to Diarmuid Mangan’s bonus point sealing try in the 80th minute.
Ballina man Harry West came in for out-half Sam Prendergast on the 73rd minute. Ireland are now top of Pool B after two games played.
Richie Murphy’s side will play Fiji in the final pool fixture at 12pm on Tuesday next. The game will be shown live on Virgin Media Two.
