Tuam native Rory Gaffney scored twice in the 53rd and 56th minute to put the Hoops 2-0 ahead.
Former Sligo Rovers forward Aaron Greene struck two minutes before time to round off the scoring.
Elsewhere, Galway United hit Finn Harps for six at Eamon Deacy Park.
Darren Clarke, Killian Brouder, Stephen Walsh and Maurice Nugent all scored inside the opening 20 minutes in a blistering start.
Robert Manley made it five early in the second half, before David Hurley rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot on 89 minutes.
Galway remain ten points clear at the top of the First Division.
