The GAA community in Mayo are rallying behind the parents of a ten month old boy who has passed away.
Baby Cillian Rochford Diskin, Lackafinna, Cong, died suddenly on Saturday last.
He is survived by his heartbroken and loving family, mother Zoe and father Conor.
Conor Diskin is a Claremorris senior footballer and also represented Mayo at various grades. He was a member of the Mayo senior team that won the National League Final in 2019.
Claremorris GAA paid their condolences to the Rochford and Diskin families in a tribute.
“Claremorris GAA club expresses heartfelt condolences to Conor and Zoe and to the Diskin and Rochford families at this time of great sadness and overwhelming grief. The sudden loss of baby Cillian (ten months) has shocked the region and the heartache and pain that the family is coping with now must be almost unbearable.
“The hearts of all go out to Conor and Zoe and their families in these darkest of times for all of them.”
Mayo GAA also paid tribute to Baby Cillian.
“Mayo GAA are saddened to hear of the passing of baby Cillian Rochford Diskin RIP.
“Cillian is the son of former Mayo footballer Conor Diskin.”
Baby Cillian will be reposing in Burke’s Funeral Home, Clonbur today from 4.30pm to 7.30pm
Mass of the Angels and burial will be private for family and close friends.
