Mayo AC are delighted to formally announce the 11th edition of their ever-popular 5k Race Series.
After the unavoidable three year break the Series is back with a bang, with four great courses over four consecutive Tuesdays in May.
Courses have been selected in an order that will enable runners to see improvements in their efforts, and hopefully in finish times.
The series is open to runners at all levels, from the elite athlete to those who have recently completed ‘couch to 5ks’ and want to take part in their first official timed event, and for everyone in between.
All races are chip timed and have Athletics Ireland permits.
Mayo AC are delighted to welcome Intersport Elverys on board this year as the main sponsor of the Series. Intersport Elverys is a national brand with its heart firmly established in Mayo.
They say “We continually strive to support organisations and associations that promote sport at a grassroots level. This is a great opportunity for us to do this for athletics in Mayo.”
Keep on eye out for an exciting event in conjunction with Intersport Elverys in the lead up to the Series.
The race series will take place over 4 Tuesdays in May.
Beginning in Castlebar on May 9, and moving on to Claremorris on May 16. Next stop will be Ballinrobe on May 23 on one of the faster courses, and the grand finale will be held in Foxford on May 30, which hopefully will see lots of runners post their fastest time of the Series.
We hope to have a celebratory after party on the final evening at Foxford with details to follow.
Entry for all four races including the after party on the final night is €30 or €10 for single event entry. We ask all runners to use the same race number for all series races.
The link for entries will be on http://www.mayoac.com, on our other social media, and on http://www.coretiming.ie where you can register at https://www.njuko.net/mayoacseries23/select_competition
