Galway United Women overcame the odds yesterday with victory over Shelbourne in the League of Ireland Women's Premier Division.
Shelbourne took the lead inside two minutes, but two goals in the space of a minute (57 & 58) gave Galway the lead.
Aoife Thompson levelled the game, with Jenna Slattery scoring the winner soon after.
A big win for Galway United who were reduced to ten players for most of the second half.
The same fortune could not be said for Sligo Rovers Women, who were beaten 2-1 at home by Treaty United.
Emma Doherty was the Rovers goal scorer after 43 minutes.
Mayo's Sarah Rowe also suffered defeat with Bohemians, who went down 2-0 to Peamount United.
Full time scores:
Galway United 2 - 1 Shelbourne
Sligo Rovers 1 - 2 Treaty United
