Sligo Rovers are now up to fourth place in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division after a 2-1 victory over St Patrick’s Athletic last night.
It wasn’t exactly plain sailing for Rovers, as home grown talent John Mahon was sent off after twenty minutes.
Rovers took the lead however on 32 minutes thanks to Reece Hutchinson.
The away side equalised through Chris Forrester just after the hour mark, and five minutes later Rovers were ahead again with a goal from Fabrice Hartmann.
John Russell’s side managed to hold on for the victory, and their second win in four games so far this season.

Elsewhere, Shamrock Rovers are down towards the bottom of the table without a win so far this season.
The champions took the lead on 14 minutes thanks to Galway native Rory Gaffney, but ended up being behind at half time.
With 20 minutes of normal time left, they were down by two goals with Darragh Crowley’s second.
Shams got a goal back with seven minutes of normal time left, before Sean Hoare equalised in the 97th minute to salvage a draw.
