The Mayo hurlers were beaten by a point today in their Allianz National Hurling League Division 3A game against Armagh.
Fionntan Donnelly hit 1-11 for the Orchard County, with his goal putting them five points ahead.
With a returning Tooreen contingent, Mayo battled to the very end but came up short by the slightest of margins.
Cormac Phillips hit 0-6, one of seven Mayo players on the scoresheet.
Mayo now sit bottom of Division 3A, with just a point from the draw with Roscommon.
