Crossmolina Rally CoDriver Lorcan Moore will compete in next week’s Qatar International Rally, the second round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship.
Moore, 25, a member of the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy, will partner with pro Qatari driver and former WRC2 runner up Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari driving a Škoda Fabia Rally2 ran by the Latvian team SRT. The pair have just completed a successful pre event test in northern Portugal and look forward to the event.
Al-Kuwari has been previously partnered by another Crossmolina native in Killian Duffy, where the pair achieved multiple successes in the World Rally and Middle East Championships.
The Qatar event begins with recce on Wednesday before the ceremonial start Thursday evening in the coastal city of Lusail, Qatar’s second-largest city, followed by a night super special stage before the main action commences in the neighbouring deserts on Friday and Saturday across 12 demanding stages.
