Mayo GAA are saddened to hear of the passing of John Cosgrove (RIP) Knockglass Crossmolina & formerly Carrowmore, Lacken, Co. Mayo
John will be greatly missed by his wife Mary, daughters Claudette, Claire, Terri Sue, Sile, sons Martin and Colin. Sister Terry Lavin, brother Michael, Aunt Maud McHale, Sons-in-law Henry, John Gerard, Michéal, and Michael, daughters-in-law Olive & Eithne, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law. Sadly missed by his 14 adoring grandchildren Caoimhe, Cian, Maeve, Fionn, John, Tom, Darragh, Aoibheann, Emma, Saoirse, Daniel, Finn, Leah & Ciara, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours & friends.
John was a club, County and Intercounty referee, he played with his club Crossmolina Deel Rovers. He was a two-time All Ireland winner of Scór Trath na gCeist. John loved Irish and history and had written two books of the history of Crossmolina Deel Rovers and one of Lacken Sarsfields. He will be missed by his club Crossmolina Deel Rover and all at Mayo GAA.
Remains reposing at Hiney's Funeral Home, Crossmolina (eircode F26 DH95) this Saturday evening from 3pm until 5pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 11.30am in St. Tiernan's Church, Crossmolina. Burial afterwards in Crossmolina Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed on www.churchtv.ie/crossmolina
