Connacht director of rugby Andy Friend says Gavin Thornbury is unlikely to play again this season.

The lock underwent surgery on a knee tendon issue earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Connacht have made twelve changes to their side for tomorrow night’s visit of Ulster to the Sportsground.

Internationals Mack Hansen, Jack Carty, Finlay Bealham and Cian Prendergast are among those returning to the side.

Ulster will deploy Nathan Doak at out-half for the trip to Galway.
