Former Galway senior hurling and Roscommon senior football manager Anthony Cunningham is set to be ratified as Portarlington senior football manager for 2023.
Cunningham takes over from Martin Murphy, who helped Portarlington to winning the last three Laois senior football championships, having taken over in 2019.
In a club statement on Twitter, Portarlington GAA said:
“Portarlington GAA are pleased to officially announce that Anthony Cunningham will be ratified as our new senior football coach, at a special executive meeting tonight. We are delighted to have Anthony and his team on board.”
Cunningham became the first manager to lead counties to provincial titles in different codes (Galway – Leinster hurling championship 2012) (Roscommon – Connacht senior football championship 2019).
He departed from his role as Roscommon senior football manager in August of this year.
