Mona McSharry continues to fly the flag for Irish swimming after qualifying for the final of the women’s 50m breaststroke at the European Aquatics Championships in Rome.
It is the third final the Sligo swimmer has qualified for in these championships.
The 2020 Olympic finalist finished in seventh-place in the 200m breaststroke final on Monday, and she finished fifth place in the 100m final on Saturday.
The Sligo star finished in fifth place in the second semi-final in a time of 30.90, just 0.03 off her Irish record.
That time was seventh fastest overall and good enough to secure her a place in the final this evening at 5.05pm.
