Castlebar Racquetball club member Majella Haverty jetted off to Birmingham, Alabama today to represent Team Ireland at the World Games 2022 alongside her team mates.
Majella gained qualification through the 2021 World Racquetball Championships which were held in Guatemala and she will now get the opportunity to compete alongside the Top 16 players in the World.
The World Games is an 11-day international multi-sport event held every 4 years organized with the support of the International Olympic Committee.
An anticipated 3,600 elite athletes from over 100 countries will compete for gold in more than 30 of the fastest growing sports in the world which includes racquetball.
