Galway United have a two-point lead at the top of the SSE Airtricity League First Division table after inflicting a 5-1 defeat on Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds.
Stephen Walsh opened the scoring for the visitors in the first minute, making no mistake with a glancing header before Wilson Waweru doubled Galway's advantage in the 23rd minute.
Darragh Lynch responded for Bray 18 minutes after the restart, but Max Hemmings' fortuitous third goal from a cross for Galway ended the game as a contest.
Walsh completed his brace in the 80th minute and David Hurley then converted an 83rd minute spot-kick in a ruthless display by John Caulfield's men.
