Ireland captain Martin Heneghan has lost his second round game at the Six Nations Cup in Scotland.
He suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Dutch opponent Wesley Plaisier in the Men’s Singles category.
The Mayo man had got the morning off to the perfect start on the outskirts of Glasgow, defeating Wale’s Sam Cankett in the opening game by 4-3.
The Roundfort native will continue to lead the Irish team of David Concannon, Ciaran Teehan, Mark Cullen and Dylan Powell in the tournament, which concludes on Sunday.
Ireland are in Group One with the Netherlands and Wales.
The ladies team of Robyn Byrne, Katie Sheldon and Caroline Breen are also in action, they are in Group One with England and Northern Ireland.
