NUI Galway have been crowned Sigerson Cup champions for the first time in nineteen years.
On a blustery night at IT Carlow, they beat UL on a 0-12 to 1-06 scoreline.

Roscommon’s Cathal Heneghan came off the bench to shoot 0-3, in a man-of-the-match display while Galway duo Tomo Culhane and Gavin Burke, and Mayo’s Fionn McDonagh were others to produce valuable scoring returns.

Gavin Durcan of Castlebar Mitchels also started tonight for Maurice Sheridan's side.

UL had four Mayo players involved this evening – Eoghan McLaughlin and Paul Towey who both got a point each as well as Jack Coyne and Connell Dempsey.
