The date and times have been fixed for Kieran’s fundraising match in the new NUIG Connacht GAA Air Dome. The matches are on Saturday the 29th of January with throw in for the first game between the Gardaí and the Mayo club selection at 5:30pm in the Dome. The Irish Prison Service vs Crossmolina GAA will throw in at 6:30pm.
In recent months, ACO Kieran Cawley has been going through a very difficult period in his life. He is a sports mad 42 year old, married to Marcella. They have one son, Caolan. Kieran has served for the past 13 years in Wheatfield, Midlands and Castlerea prisons.
Kieran suddenly became very seriously ill in the autumn of 2021 with an extremely rare form of cancer. Treatment options in Ireland appear to be limited, and his family have been looking overseas for help. The options available abroad are very expensive.
