Mayo GAA have paid tribute to New York and Mayo GAA Gael Pat Gavin
The Liscarney local was a Westport clubman and he linked up with the Mayo GAA Club in New York in the early sixties
He was honoured by the Green & Red Trust in 2007 for his outstanding contribution to Mayo GAA.
His close friend and neighbour Paddy Muldoon described him at that Gala function as one of the men that made the GAA what it is today.
Mayo GAA Chairperson Seamus Tuohy said this week that Pat Gavin’s contribution to Mayo GAA should never be forgotten.
Pat's viewing will take place today in New York and his Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday morning in St Barnabas Church, Bronx, New York.
