Senior officers of the Mayo County Board will meet with the Mayo Senior management team in two weeks time to carry out a review of the 2021 season.

It was confirmed at last night’s County Board meeting that clubs will have an opportunity to submit questions for James Horan ahead of his end of season review meeting with senior County Board officials.

A review process will also take place on Mayo’s performances at Under 17 and Under 20 level.

Meanwhile, Mayo GAA Chairperson Liam Moffatt dismissed rumours that any member of the Mayo management team had stepped down.

“Nobody has stepped down from anything, everything will be clarified after the review,” said Liam Moffatt.

We obviously have to give people time to come down from the season that they had.
“There’s no truth in the rumour that anybody is stepping down.
“Questions have to be asked, where have these rumours come from?” added the chairperson.

County Board secretary Dermot Butler also described some social media commentary about Mayo’s players and management as ‘absolutely disgusting’.
