The IRFU and Leinster Rugby have issued an apology to the representatives of Connacht and Ulster in relation to the state of the changing facilities at the weekend.

The teams were playing in the final round of the Women's Interprovincial series at Energia Park in Donnybrook on Saturday.

The positioning of the temporary changing area was in a derelict area, with video footage on social media showing bins and some claiming that rats were seen.

The IRFU and Leinster apology on Twitter accepted it was an "unacceptable error" on their part that the teams were forced to change in such conditions ahead of their 12-12 draw.

They also stated that "changing facilities are not available for amateur rugby teams".
