Visually impaired golfer Ed Maguire is poised to play for Ireland for the 50th time when he tees off at the Handa World Invitational at Galgorm Castle, Co. Antrim on Tuesday next.
The Blacksod man has an unusual sporting background having played senior championship football with three counties; Mayo, Meath and Carlow.
He was also a member of the New York panel that defeated Dublin in the National Football league final of 1964.
The Irish team for the Handa Classic comprises of Ed Maguire (Austrian Open and Italian Open champion), Patrick Morgan Jnr (2nd in Us Blind Golf Open) and Carol Brill (Irish Open ladies champion.)
