Monivea’s Adam Hession, Oughterard’s Kieran Molloy, in the 200th victory of his career, and Jack Marley emerged victorious form yesterday’s European U/22 Championships bouts in Roseto, Italy.
Hession had to come from behind to see off Gabor Virban of Hungary who edged the first round, but Hession took rounds two and three to secure the win.
Molloy advanced after his opponent, Romania’s Eric Tudor, suffered a cut on his forehead near the end of the first round and when it went back to the judges, Molloy deservedly got the nod on a 4-1 split.
