A Galway woman has become the first Irish female gymnast to reach an all-round final at the European Gymnastics Championships.

Emma Slevin finished 27th with an overall score of 50.432 in qualifying in Basel, with the Swiss event also serving as an Olympic qualifier, but only for those gymnasts who didn't compete at the 2019 World Championships.

The 18-year-old from Galway ranked 26th in the vault, 29th in the asymmetric bars, 39th in the beam and 51st in the floor exercise.

The men's and women's all-round finals take place on Friday, with the apparatus finals set to take place on Saturday and Sunday.
