Sligo’s Mona McSharry has qualified for the Olympics after posting a time of 1:06.97 in the 100m breaststroke at Swim Ireland's National Team trials this morning.

McSharry was under the qualifying time 1:07.07 to secure her place in Tokyo.

The time was a new Irish record and a personal best for the Sligo swimmer.

McSharry will also compete in the 200m breaststroke this week in a bid to be part of two events in Tokyo.
