The memory of Dermot Holmes will live on at Conn Rangers Football Club ‘for years and years to come.’
That’s according to the Chairperson of the club PJ Duffy.
PJ played alongside Dermot at Rangers over the course of the dynamic player’s four decades with the black and green.
Dermot was part of the Mayo Oscar Traynor side that scored a famous win over Galway in 1981 and was an automatic choice among past players for Conn Rangers 'All Time Eleven'.
At the end of his playing days Dermot moved into management, and along with PJ Duffy, lead Rangers to the Premier Division title in 2003.
PJ says that Dermot Holmes was a great friend, supporter and Conn Rangers man since the day he moved to Knockmore.
He told Midwest Sport that the local community is in shock and mourning following his passing.
