Mayo produced a tremendous performance in Tuam this afternoon against Galway in Division 1 of the football League.
James Horan’s side knew they needed to win going into the game with relegation looming and it was evident from the start that they were the sharper of the two teams.
Mayo led by 2-17 to 0-07 at the end of a remarkable opening half in the Allianz Football League Division 1 clash, scoring more in that half than they did in any of their five league games earlier this season.
The Green & Red won out in the end on a 3-23 to 0-17 point scoreline.
Next Sunday Mayo will need to win once again when Tyrone make the trip to Castlebar if they are to ensure the top flight status.
