Ballina Stephenites, like GAA clubs across the country, are eagerly awaiting the return of group training from tomorrow.

Following the announcement form GAA HQ last Friday pitches will open for contactless training.

Contact training and challenge games will be permitted in the Republic of Ireland from Monday next.

The date for commencing Club fixtures has been brought forward and they can now be played from July 17th but the association has opted not to move their dates for inter-county.

County panels can resume training from September 14th with competitions set to get underway in the middle of October.

Ballina Stephenites Secretary Mags Downey told Midwest Sport that all the players are chomping at the bit to get back training while also adhering to public health guidelines.
