Galway United have added their voice to calls for clarity on the financial assistance that will be required to aid a return to League of Ireland action.
Clubs are expected to find out tomorrow whether enough revenue can be sourced to cover the costs of a resumption of play.
With all games set to be played behind closed doors, the loss of gate receipts will see all sides lose the majority of income.
In a statement issued to Midwest Sport, Galway United say they're keen to return to training and playing football as soon as is practical, and in a safe environment.
The statement says "Galway United - like all other League of Ireland clubs - need clarity on the financial support that will be provided to enable a successful and sustainable return to football. That clarification is expected from the FAI later this week.
Once we have all this information, we can take some time to discuss with all League of Ireland clubs and the FAI how to make the return to football work - both safely and financially".
