Golfers across the region are beginning to return to the fairways as restrictions are lifted as part of phase one of the government’s roadmap to exit the Covid-19 lockdown.
There have been steady flows of people heading to Claremorris Golf Course in Castlemacgarret today.
Club Chairman Phelim Munnelly told Midwest Sport that tee times are staggered and a number of measures have been taken to ensure the course upholds public health guidelines.
There is no need to touch flag poles anymore, as polystyrene has been put into the holes, so that players can simply scoop the ball out with their putter.
Mr Munnelly says that it’s uplifting to see a semblance of normality return to life.
