The Covid-19 pandemic has left many people, especially the elderly, more isolated than ever.

People over the age of 70 and those with underlying health conditions are being advised to "cocoon" and spend time away from their loved ones, as they are most at risk of contracting the coronavirus disease.

This can lead to people feeling stressed or anxious, but a simple chat about GAA issues over the phone could brighten their day.

Mayo legend David Brady has offered to call any elderly person who's a fanatic GAA supporter, for a chat while they're cocooning.

It came about after someone got in touch with him, asking would he give their Wicklow based father Tom, a Mayo-mad GAA fan from Swinford, a call.

The former midfielder says he's been inundated with similar requests ever since and is now making calls to Mayo people who are in isolation across the world.

Dublin's Alan Brogan is doing the same after picking up on David Brady's gesture on Twitter.
