The GAA still aims to complete its All-Ireland senior football and hurling championships by the scheduled final dates of August 16 (for hurling) and August 30 (for football).

The Irish Independent reports that this would be dependent on action starting by mid- June and could see a return to straight knockout provincial championships in both football and hurling, but potentially with a 'back door' as well.

For now, Croke Park is still planning for the championships to start on the weekend of May 9-10.
