Mayo & District Motorsport Club are delighted to announce that televised highlights of the recent Mayo Stages Rally will be aired tomorrow on TG4 at 10.30am.
The TF Royal Hotel & Theatre/Caseys & Mulroys Londis (Castlebar) Mayo Stages Rally 2020 took place on Sunday the 8th March in the Aughagower, Islandeady and Fahy areas.
Rally headquarters was the TF Royal Hotel & Theatre with service taking place in the Breaffy Road Business Park, beside Woodies.
Donagh Kelly with co-driver Conor Foley took the overall honours on the day in their VG Polo R5, followed by Roy White and James O’Brien in their Ford Fiesta WRC and Gary Kiernan with Darragh Kelly in a Honda Civic taking third.
Eleven Mayo crews took part in the rally: In class 5, Westport’s David Carney and co-driver Ray Fitzpatrick competed in their Ford Fiesta R5; Darragh Mullen was co-driving for Paul Rowley also in a Ford Fiesta R5.
In class 13, Castlebar’s Gerry Casey was out in his Ford Escort Mk2 with co-driver Jared Gill; John Warren and co-driver Ruthann O’Connor competed in their Toyota Corolla, while Karl Egan was co-driving for Jason Black in a Toyota Starlet.
Foxford’s James McGreal with co-driver Chris Mitchell competed in their class 15 Mitsubishi Evo. In class 11F Westport’s David Healy and Stephen McGing were competing in their Honda Civic; Gordon Nimmo with Chrystal Culkeen on the notes competed in their Ford Fiesta; and Jason Ryan with co-driver Gary Collins took to the road in their Honda Civic.Class 3 saw Keith McFadden and co-driver Sara McFadden compete in their Renault Clio, in class 10, Ballina’s Martin Cawley and Kenneth Langan competed in their Peugeot 205GTI.
