Mayo GAA players are among those urging the public to pull together  in tackling Covid-19.

Aidan O'Shea took to Twitter asking people to heed the advice of the experts to flatten the curve.

In a video, he added Covid-19 is here. The next 7 days are critical, It's key to listen to our experts such as Dr Tony Holohan and follow the guidelines set down by the HSE including staying at home and washing hands thoroughly, as well as avoiding social interactions that are not necessary.

Aidan O'Shea is urging people to think of the vulnerable in society, such as the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, and said "let's come together and flatten the curve - it's in our hands".

Mayo star Tom Parsons also took to Twitter adding "We need to protect ourselves- please stop hugging and shaking hands. We all know that big nights in and big nights out are cancelled for now. Please no solo runs - let's show as a nation how we care for each other".
