Mayo legend Andy Moran has announced his retirement from inter-county football.
The 2017 footballer of the year will now focus on his club team Ballaghaderreen.
Moran made the decision with manager James Horan yesterday.
He had a remarkable career with Mayo swinging the tide in the infamous 2006 All-Ireland semi-final with Dublin.
His recovery from a 2012 cruciate knee injury highlighted the resilience of Moran as a player and as a man.
He got his first bit of National silverware this year as he reaped the League title with Mayo.
As a key forward, play-maker and ball-winner in the Mayo set-up, Moran's departure will be heavily felt next season.
