This weekend sees the opening round of games in the Mayo Junior Football Championship.

Games are scheduled to take place over the course of Saturday and Sunday.

In the A Championship in Group 1, Ballycroy host Kilmeena on Saturday evening at 6pm.

The other game in group 1 sees Ballina Stephenites host Kilmovee Shamrocks on Sunday at 3pm.

In group 2 on Sunday Achill host Westport at 3pm.

Both games in Group 3 take place on Sunday, Castlebar Mitchels host Ballycastle at 1pm, while Cill Chomain travel to Charlestown at 3pm.

In group 4 on Saturday, Tourmakeady host Kilmaine at 6pm while on Sunday at 1pm Killala welcome Ballintubber.

In the B Championship, Kilfian host Lacken in Group 1 at 6pm on Saturday while Eastern Gaels entertain Claremorris at 1pm on Sunday.

In group 2 both game games are on Sunday, Louisburgh host Hollymount-Carramore at 12 noon while at 3pm Kiltimagh travel to Davitts.

Moygownagh host Ardnaree in Group 3 at 1pm, and Ballaghaderreen host Aghamore at 3pm on Sunday.

In group 4 on Sunday, Breaffy host Crossmolina Deel Rovers at 1pm.

In the Mayo Junior C Championship, there are two games in Group 1 on Sunday at 12 noon.

Islandeady host Bonniconlon while Burrishoole entertain Kiltane.

In group 2, both games are also on Sunday at 12 noon. Garrymore host Kilmaine while Belmullet welcome Kilmovee Shamrocks.

In group 3 on Friday evening at 6pm Ballycastle travel to Mayo Gaels while on Sunday at 12pm Balla host Castlebar Mitchels.

And in Group 4 on Sunday at 12 noon Parke/Keelogues/Crimlin host Westport.

There are also games this Saturday evening in the Mayo Senior League Division’s 1, 2 and 3.
