Tommy Higgins,

Tommy passed away peacefully after a short illness in the wonderful care of the Mayo Hospice.

Predeceased by his son Brian, his wife Kathleen, his infant sons Robert & Patrick, his sisters and brother RIP

Tommy will be deeply regretted by his daughters Florence (Devane), Betty (Murphy), Catherine (Langan), Patricia (Kean), Nicola (Lally) and his sons Jerry & Karl, his sister Flor McBride & sister-in-law Anne Walsh, his grandchildren , great grandchildren, cousins, nieces & nephews, sons-in-law, daughters-in law, his neighbours & his many friends.

Reposing at Gilligan’s Funeral Home, Market Square, Claremorris, F12WF67 on Tuesday, 10th December from 6pm until 8pm.

Remains will arrive at St. Colman’s Church, Claremorris for Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 11th December at 2pm followed by burial in Ballinasmalla Cemetery.

Funeral Mass will be live streamed on You Tube “Claremorris Church Live”  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXznV-Kn2sVij_zi3fZun6w or listened to on local parish radio on 106fm.

House private on Wednesday please.

We were all so very sorry to have learned of the passing of Tommy Higgins. Tommy Higgins was an outstanding man in his field. He was a man of great vision. He was a thorough gentleman, so humble, kind and he was an exceptionally nice person with an extraordinary business brain. What a dreadful loss Tommy will be to his community and to his home town of Claremorris, where his contribution to the town was immense.
Tommy's love was all of his family, after which it was his farms, land and livestock. Tommy was a wonderful developer in regard to his land, he knew the importance of re-seeding the land for super grass growth and Tommy had that in abundance. As one journeyed to Roscommon or Ballindine, one could see the most beautiful photogenic herd of fine Aberdeen Angus Heifers grazing on the fine grass. We send our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to his five daughters and two sons on the death of their much loved and cherished father, to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, nephews, nieces and to all of the extended Higgins family, neighbours and many friends. May Tommy's gentle soul rest in Heavenly peace where he will now be reunited with his wife Kathleen and son Brian. Amen. Mary Coleman.
