The life of a goldfish from Mayo has been saved after it had a tumour removed.
A first of its kind operation was carried out on 17-year-old Merlin.
His owners became concerned after he stopped eating food, and noticed a lump near one of his eyes.
The three-inch fish was put under general anesthetic for the procedure by Dublin-based vet Emer O'Reilly.
