A Sligo TD has described the administration of the ACRES scheme as an absolute shambles.
Deputy Marian says many farmers have been left with a significant gap in income due to initial delays in the payment, with farmers then being told the payment would come in two installments rather than one.
She now says some farmers have been told the ACRES payment they have received will be taken back from them.
She has called on the Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue to sort out the situation as a matter of urgency.
