Apprentices being forced to work below minimum wage is forcing many employees to leave their trade.

A report from the trade union Connect shows exploitation by some employers is just one of the reasons trades people are quitting the industry.

Many are choosing to emigrate, while facing long delays in their courses, coupled with the inability to live on what's been described as 'below minimum pay'.

Connect Assistant General Secretary, Brian Nolan is calling for reasonable pay for apprentices.
