Motorists are advised that the N59, Ballycroy Road, close to Mulranny,is closed to traffic this evening following a two vehicle collision this afternoon about 3.30pm
A number of people have been taken from the scene to Mayo University Hospital.
Their conditions are not known.
Gardai say diversions are in place at present. There is no time frame on the road re-opening as yet this evening.
