President Michael D Higgins has sent his "best wishes" to Muslims in Ireland and around the world who are celebrating Eid al-Fitr.
It's one of two official holidays observed within Islam, and marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.
Eid means festival or feast in Arabic, and as well as prayers, those who mark the religious day also enjoy traditional meals and family reunions.
