The need for a Bus Eireann to provide a better service between Ireland West Airport and Ballina and North Mayo was highlighted at this week’s monthly meeting of Mayo County Council by Ballina Independent councillor Mark Duffy.

The councillor says there are just two buses serving the airport from Ballina daily and a single daily return service, and this compare to 6 bus services from the airport to both Castlebar and Westport daily.

Councillors agreed to write to Bus Eireann and to the Minister for Transport to demand an explanation as to why the north Mayo region is not provided with better connectivity to Ireland West Airport and when an enhanced service will be provided.
