The late Ger Brady will be laid to rest today.

Ger, a former Mayo senior footballer, died on Thursday at the Mayo Hospice after a brave battle with Motor Neurones Disease.

He lived in Grattan Park in Claremorris, and formerly Murneen South, Barnacarroll.

Ger is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Karen, their son Dylan, his parents, siblings, extended family and many friends.

On a sporting front, Ger played gaelic football at all ages for his club Claremorris and also for the county at minor, under 21 and senior level.

With the meeting of Mayo and New York in the Connacht SFC taking place in the coming weeks, many have recalled Ger playing in the same fixture in Castlebar back in 1999.

Tributes have been paid to Ger online over the last few days since his passing by Claremorris GAA club, Mayo GAA, and many others.

His Funeral Mass takes place today at St. Colman’s Church, Claremorris at 2:00pm, with burial afterwards in St. Colman’s Cemetery.

The mass will be live streamed on Claremorris Church Live YouTube and on local parish radio 106fm.

House private and family flowers only please.

Donations to the Mayo Hospice.

May he Rest In Peace.
